Life is quite hectic with the kids and the horses at the moment but we’ve managed to get out and compete – plus also do all the kids’ activities too.
In May we headed to Hickstead for a busy couple of days with 4 horses. Moony was a superstar to win the PSG and the Inter 1 – both tests over 75%. Bonnie also stepped up to win the Grand Prix Special with 72.53%.
Meanwhile, Annie has started her show experience (and she needs to have plenty of this bless her!) with some elementary tests and several wins.
2 weeks ago was Wellington where we had Moony and Forest in the International Small Tour and Bonnie and Supi did the Premier League Grand Prix. Wellington can be busy and it’s a good experience for them to learn to focus there. They all coped well. Bonnie came second in his Grand Prix class with 68.08.
In the PSG all the scores were very close together and Forest came 2nd and Moony 5th, both with over 69%. In the Inter 1 they swapped places! Monny was 2nd and Forest 3rd, and again very close scores over 68%.
We also had a brilliant evening supporting Horses Inside Out and their demo at Hartpury where Moony was painted up and I rode in a skeleton suit.
My husband Mark has also been busy with his polo exploits and on winning form. He had a great feature in Horse & Hound and it really shows how different our sports are but also the similarities too. We definitely learn from each other.
